Four years ago today, I wrote my very first blog post on Freshly Married, called “The Iron,”  about a lesson I learned with an iron (obviously), that taught me what it truly means to be a good wife, even though I had only been married for a few short weeks. Though we’ve been married for longer now and have had several more tough experiences than this one, this iron experience helped launch the message behind Freshly Married, which you can read more about here.

I’ve been happily blessed with this passion of trying to help others strengthen and FRESHEN UP their marriage, and in the process, they have helped MY marriage grow! I’ve been able to connect and relate to others through 300 blog posts, a Facebook group community, and the people who message me weekly asking for relationship advice or thanking me for sharing something they needed to hear. That is incredibly rewarding to me, and I hope to have more years of this!

I’m grateful for a husband who helps make my website function, who gives me great tips for improving FM, and who so graciously provides for us, allowing me to pursue this journey dedicated to helping others. Keepin' marriage fresh,

  • One of my favorite things is when he is watching a video or something he thinks is funny and I can watch a smile slowly start to spread across his face.

  • I have enjoyed your date night blog posts! The different ideas, and cheap ones! As well as the idea that Dating is the glue to marriage

  • I love my husbands sense of humor. He is the funniest and most fun person I’ve ever met. He can make anyone, especially me, feel great if down in the dumps!

  • I love how selfless my husband is. He always puts others before himself and would do anything for me or anyone who needs help.

  • I love everything about my husband. He cares a lot about our son and me. I always feel blessed to have him in my life.

  • I love how much my husband sacrifices for my happiness and to provide well for our family. I also love that he truly is the best friend, not only to me but to anyone who needs a good friend.

  • My favorite post was about prioritizing your spouse! It’s such an easy thing to forget when you have kids so remembering that and having ideas of how to do it is super important!

  • I love how dedicated my husband is towards providing and taking care of our family. He goes above and beyond!

  • And the post about ways to prioritize your spouse was a really good one for me. They’re simple things, but really make such a difference when you pay attention to them!

  • I love that my husband can always make me laugh! Even during difficult times he makes a point of getting me to smile and laugh every day!

  • My husband and I actually will have our 4 year anniversary this July! Haha! I love that my husband will stick through everything with me and that we’ve become a better team together! I love how he is my companion for the rest of my life and how loving he is! He makes me believe any marriage can last forever with the right tools!

  • He is my very soon to be husband, but I’ll comment anyways.
I love his heart; such a big heart! He took on an entire family and chooses us every day- I was a single mom of three and he admired me, as a mother. He works very hard, so I can stay home with our youngest two. I’ve never had that opportunity in my life. He cheers me on and supports all my decisions. He is a wonderful dad and I love the way he loves the kids.

  • I love how hard my husband works to provide for us. I don’t know how he gets out of bed everyday to work, but I’m so grateful he does!

  • My husband is patient, is always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need and can make anyone laugh.

  • I love the joyful marriage series. Continually working at it is so important as is finding the joy

  • My husband is such a hard worker, he is my safe space to land, the person who kindly takes care of what I need and works hard to do better everyday.

  • The article that has impacted me the most was the 9 Misconceptions about Therapy. There has been several reasons why I wanted to go to counseling, but it wasn’t until talking to family members that have benefited as well as reading the blog post that I finally not only looked into it, but followed through and have started seeing a counselor.

    • Well and I guess the one about love languages. My husband and I took it when we were engaged two years ago, and then we took it that week that you challenged us to. It was shocking to see what was my husbands #1 two years ago, drop to #4. I had some things change too, but not as much as him. Now I know how to speak his new love language and lessen speaking his top love language from two years ago

    • Thank you for sharing that, Emari! I’m sorry for the reasons you’ve had to go to therapy, but proud of you for taking that step, and I’m happy that blog post was enlightening and helpful in your decision-making.

  • I love that my husband not only attractive, but he also makes a priority of working out and looking good. I come from a family that doesn’t see exercise as much as a priority, but my husband comes from a family that exercises for an hour a day, 6 days a week. I’ve been working on being more active and getting more in shape because there are really tons of advantages of being in shape and getting so much exercise a week.
